Balloon modeling is one of those timeless hobbies which can entertain adults and children alike for hours on end. A relatively inexpensive pastime, you can create an infinite array of characters and even wearable balloon sculptures, like a simple baseball cap for example. Balloon hats are an essential part of any balloon sculpture's bag of tricks, so get started with this simple baseball cap.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 long balloons
  1. Step 1

Blow up a long balloon leaving 1 and 1/2 to 2 inches of uninflated space at the end. Pinch twist a bubble into the knotted end and then make two side-by-side 4-inch long fold twists. The two loops of your fold twists will create the front of your hat, while the long portion of extra balloon will arch over your head to create the cap.

  2. Step 2

Inflate another long balloon in a contrasting color all of the way and tie off the end. Feed each end of the balloon up through the loops of your first balloon. The arch that the second balloon creates will be the brim of your baseball cap.

  3. Step 3

Bring the loose end of the first balloon down together with the loose ends of your second balloon. Hold the three pieces together firmly about 2 inches from the ends and twist together.

  4. Step 4

Hold the brim of your baseball cap near the first balloon and squeeze gently to add an upward curve to your hat's brim. Place the hat on your head and slide the first balloon along the second to adjust the size.
