Things You’ll Need:
- Long balloon
- 1 5-inch round balloon
- 3 long balloons
- Eyeballs (cotton balls, paper, stickers, markers, etc.)
- Tape, glue or decorative accessories
The Banana Fold
Step1
Inflate a long balloon and leave a small space at the end. Make a loop by tying the excess balloon together with the knot.
Step2
Hold the knot in one hand and stretch the loop to find the center. Pinch the center and twist so that you have two portions.
Step3
Pinch the loop in half at the center between the knot and your first twist and twist to two portions together to create a bow shape.
Step4
Feed one half of the bow shape through and into the other. Manipulate the balloons so that the loops of the bow are setting together, one inside the other, with twists touching. Your final banana fold should be a four-point football-shaped cylinder.
The Eyeball Creature Balloon Animal
Step1
Make a banana fold with a long yellow balloon and set aside.
Step2
Blow up and tie off 5 inch round balloon and set aside. This balloon with eventually be the head of your eyeball character, so decide now whether you will draw on the eyes and face with markers, or if you will use paper and tape or even stickers. If you choose to use a marker, select a color that will easily show the eyeballs.
Step3
Grab a long blue balloon and create the legs and feet of your eyeball character. Make a two bubble lock twist at the end of the balloon, making the first foot. Then leave a few inches and make two pinch twists side by side. Leave another equal space and make the second two bubble lock twist. Break off and tie the balloon.
Step4
Take your yellow banana folded balloon and find the third soft side. Pinch and twist the soft side in half at the center and lock the two pinch twists of your leg balloon around the center of the yellow balloon. You now have the body and the legs of your eyeball character.
Step5
Create the arms with two more long blue balloons. Simply tie the loose end of one long balloon onto one corner of the banana folded balloon where the three joints come together. Make a pinch twist for a shoulder, and then a fold twist for a hand, leaving a few inches in between for an arm. Twist and break off the excess balloon, and tie the end. Repeat on the other side to create the second arm.
Step6
Pressure fit, or squeeze your round balloon head into the center of the banana fold. You can now draw, tape, glue or use stickers to give your character eyeballs.
