Things You'll Need:
- Long balloons in multiple colors
- Permanent marker
-
Step 1
Begin the body by twisting a small bubble into the knot end of a long balloon. Pinch the balloon about 4 inches from the bubble and twist again. Fold at the twist down the the bubble and twist the bubble around the balloon. Fold the balloon about 4 inches again, pinch and twist the balloon. The third 4 inch portion you have created should be pushed through the other two.
-
Step 2
Start at the other end and repeat the same process to complete a barbell shape which will become the body of your duck character.
-
Step 3
Create your duck's legs by twisting a small bubble in the knot end of another long balloon. Pinch the balloon 2 or 3 inches above the bubble and fold the balloon back down to the bubble. Wrap the bubble around the balloon to complete the first foot. Repeat the same process on the other end of the balloon.
-
Step 4
Fold your balloon legs in half to find the center and wrap the bubble of one end of your barbell body around the center of your duck's legs to finish the body base.
-
Step 1
Inflate a long balloon the same color as your balloon body to make your ducks arms. Fill up the balloon leaving 1 inch free at the end. Remember, this is a cartoon duck character, so he will have hands instead of wings.
-
Step 2
Make a small bubble at the knot end of your balloon. Make a fold twist by first twisting the balloon about 3 inches below the small bubble and folding the balloon back up to the bubble. Twist the bubble around the balloon and you have finished your duck's first hand. Squeeze the opposite end of the balloon so it fills with air, and repeat your small bubble and fold twist to create the second hand.
-
Step 3
Fold the balloon in half and twist a small bubble at the center. Wedge the center of your duck's arms into the middle of the top half of your balloon body and twist into place.
-
Step 4
Blow up a long yellow balloon to create the duck bill, leaving a few inches free at the end. Wrap the knot around the balloon body head and tuck the knot into the center. Make a large loop in the balloon, as large as you would like the upper bill and twist the end near the body's head. Wrap the unlooped end around the head to hold the bill in place.
-
Step 5
Loop the yellow balloon again, slightly smaller this time, to create the lower bill. Twist the balloon near the body's head and wrap the excess once around the head. To keep the head position facing down instead of up at the sky, create a very small loop in the same manner at the back of the head. Snap off the excess balloon and tie a knot.
-
Step 6
Adjust your balloons to straighten the bill and head and draw on your ducks eyes and any other finishing touches to finish your character.
