If balloon art is a hobby that you are interested in, then you will want to learn how to make a balloon dog. A balloon dog is probably the most commonly asked for balloon animal. After you perfect it, you can use your new skills to make other balloon animals.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Twisting balloons, often called 260Q
  • Balloon pump
  • Permanent marker
  1. Step 1

Inflate the balloon using a balloon pump leaving 3 inches at the end flat and tie a knot. This gap will leave room for twisting without popping the balloon.

  2. Step 2

Hold the knotted end and twist a 2 inch bubble for the head and two 3 inch bubbles for the ears.

  3. Step 3

Connect the dog's ears by twisting the two 3 inch bubbles together. Then twist another 2 inch bubble for the neck.

  4. Step 4

Make two 3 inch bubbles for the front legs and connect the two by twisting them together.

  5. Step 5

Create a 4 to 5 inch bubble for the body and two 3 inch bubbles for the back legs. There should be some balloon left for the dog's tail. Join the two 3 inch bubbles together, making the back legs.

  6. Step 6

Use a permanent marker to add eyes, nose and a mouth and your balloon dog is complete. Enjoy your new balloon animal dog or give away to a friend.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always twist in the same direction.
  • Balloon pumps are usually found in the balloon section of craft or party supply stores.
  • Uninflated and broken balloons are a choking hazard for any child under 8 years of age.
