Shoot an arrow from a bow and hit a target twenty yards away. Technique in archery is the key to whether the arrow will fly straight and powerfully. With a good stance and proper techniques you can hit the target dead on.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Stand with your shoulder toward the target. Plant your feet parallel to the target, shoulder width apart. Use either the closed stance or modified open stance. Hold your head straight, turned toward the target.
Step2
Hold your front arm straight out toward the target. Your arm should be at the level of your shoulder with a slight bend in the elbow. The back arm bends to have a shoulder level pull of release.
Step3
Load the bow. Hold the arrow in your hand with your fingers away from you. Knock the arrow beneath the nocking point on the bow and snap it on the string. Set the length of the arrow on the arrow rest.
Step4
Draw back with three fingers beneath the nocking point on the string. Bring the string right up beside your nose. Your fingers will be along your chin.
Step5
Aim down the straight line of the string, along the arrow.
Step6
Release the arrow properly. Let your three fingers slide off the string as you pull your hand directly back in a straight path. If you have sighted the target correctly and have had a correct release, your arrow will fly into the target.
