Bushido is a martial arts defense, which helps you protect yourself against everyday attackers on the street. Bushido defense techniques can be used in a variety of threatening situations, including those involving dangerous weapons at close proximity. Martial arts combat experience is necessary for these advanced techniques and it is not recommended that even advanced martial artists attempt to defend against weapons if alternative defenses exist.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Put your hands up beside your head when placed in an attack situation on the street. Your attacker will feel less confident and you will also be able to better use your hands to defend yourself.

  2. Step 2

Look at which hand the attacker is using to hold the gun. You will need to move away from the gun in the direction opposite the holding arm, so if the attacker is holding the gun with his right hand, you will want to move to your right. If he is holding it with his left hand, move to your left.

  3. Step 3

Move your body in the appropriate direction. At the same time, bring up your outside hand to grasp the gun and keep it away from you.

  4. Step 4

Hold the other hand palm up and strike with the blade of the hand downward on the attacker's wrist.

  5. Step 5

Rotate the gun downward to the inside of the attacker's body using the hand that is holding the gun. With the striking hand, hold the base of the gun down with your palm. The attacker's finger should remain trapped in the trigger of the gun.

  6. Step 6

Lift the gun upward under the attacker's arm forcing him to raise his shoulder to avoid dislocation.

  7. Step 7

Rotate your body, maintaining a strong grip on the gun, so that your back is to the attacker. In a swift motion, continue to twist the gun upward. In order to follow your motion, the attacker must allow himself to be thrown forward.

  8. Step 8

Continue to hold the gun when the attacker is on his back on the ground. From here, you can kick the attacker's head or body, or use his arm to roll him over and pin him face down. From this position you can disarm the attacker.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never attempt a gun defense technique in an actual attack situation unless you have advanced martial arts training and have no alternatives to escaping the situation unharmed. Gun defense is highly specialized and dangerous even for trained martial artists.
