Applying acrylic nails for a French manicure is a great way to get that natural, clean look if your nails are in poor shape or you're prone to biting them. While applying acrylic nails for a French manicure is best left to the professionals, you can save yourself a little money by doing them at home.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clear base coat nail polish
  • Flesh or light pink colored nail polish
  • White nail polish
  • Clear top coat nail polish
  • Nail brush
  • Cuticle pusher
  • Nail file
  • Paper towel
  • Acrylic powder
  • Solution
  • Nail primer
  1. Step 1

Wash your hands. Prepare your nails by trimming them and pushing back cuticles. Remove the natural nail shine with a soft file and add nail primer.

  2. Step 2

Apply a thin layer of the acrylic powder, making sure that you regularly clean the edges. Wait for it to dry for about a minute.

  3. Step 3

File the nails into the desired shape.

  4. Step 4

Apply base coat to help keep the polish smooth. Then put on the flesh or light pink colored nail polish.

  5. Step 5

Paint on the white tips in a straight line. Be sure to paint the white tip right under the edge of the nail to make it last longer. Add two coats of the white tip to make it last longer

  6. Step 6

Apply top coat and let dry.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't layer the acrylic on thick if you want to keep the look of your French manicure natural.
  • Never put too much nail polish on your brush because it will cause the polish to come out clumpy. If there is too much polish on the brush, wipe it in the bottle and get a new drop.
