After you have mastered scales, basic chords and basic tunes, it is time to move onto intermediate songs. "Times like these" by the Foo Fighters is an excellent song. Just a few chords are the basis for the entire song.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Begin with a D chord. A D chord is played with your first 2 fingers on the high E string and G string second fret. The third finger is on the B string third fret.
Step2
Follow that with a hammer on D. Leave your first 2 fingers on the second fret while removing your third finger from the third fret. Return the third finger to the third fret to play a D again. That is a hammer on.
Step3
Move on to an A minor 7 chord. Play this with the first finger on the B string first fret and the second finger on the D string second fret. The other 3 strings are played open.
Step4
Play a C chord. Play this chord with your first finger on the B string first fret, your second finger on the D string second fret and your third finger on the A string third fret.
Step5
Finish with an F minor chord. Press down on the third fret on the D and A strings and strum all strings.
Step6
Put all of these chords together to make the tune of "Times Like These." Practice over and over again, listening to the song and soon you will be ready for an audience.
