At-home facial peels are perfect for those who want to treat acne and scarring in the comfort of their home without the hefty price tags of spa facial treatments and chemical peels. Most home-based products include ingredients that help treat acne, exfoliate, moisturize and protect the skin as well as prevent premature aging. Using a facial peel once or twice a week will help hydrate your skin while treating acne.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Facial peel kit
  • Old towel
  • Clean towel
  • Non oil-based facial moisturizer
  1. Step 1

Open the bottle of serum included in your facial peel kit and apply a generous amount to your face and neck, massaging in a circular motion. Continue massaging the serum into your skin for 3 to 5 minutes, paying special attention to problem acne areas and taking care to avoid the eyes.

  2. Step 2

Mix one scoop of neutralizing powder with 2 or 3 drops of water in the palm of your hand and turn it into a paste. Depending on your particular facial peel kit, the neutralizing cream may come pre-mixed. Rub the paste into your skin, making sure to cover all areas where you have applied the serum.

  3. Step 3

Use the small plastic stick supplied in your facial peel kit to gently scrape off the cream and serum. Use firm yet gentle pressure, as you would with a razor. After each sweep, wipe the plastic stick clean on an old towel.

  4. Step 4

Wash your face with warm water and pat dry with a clean towel. Apply a thin layer of non oil-based moisturizer and repeat your facial peel once or twice a week to treat and prevent acne.

Tips & Warnings
  • While facial peels are perfect for treating and preventing acne, you must take special care to not "pop" pimples. Never use a facial peel on open or broken skin.
