Linens dress up a wedding, adding a sense of sophistication and refinement. However, purchasing wedding linens can be expensive. Renting wedding linens allows you to have the same elegant look without a hefty price tag. A bonus of renting wedding linens is that many rental services will set up the tablecloths and napkins and help decorate the reception hall as part of their fee.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start looking for wedding linen rentals as soon as you decide on a wedding date. Rental companies will often be completely booked 6 months in advance, especially during the summer months, which is peak wedding season.

  2. Step 2

Ask rental companies about the services they provide with rental linens. Some companies only provide the linens. With some companies, you are responsible for picking up and dropping off, while other companies will not only deliver and pickup linens, they will cover the tables and fold the napkins as part of their fee.

  3. Step 3

Check out the sample napkins to find the right color for your wedding reception. Because colors come in so many shades (pale pink, mauve, magenta may all be referred to simply as "pink"), do not decide on any color until you see it in person.

  4. Step 4

Arrange for the wedding linens to be delivered a day or two before the big day. You will want the tablecloths and napkins in place before you start decorating the reception hall.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't forget to order enough extra linen to cover the cake table, gift table, guest book table and any other tables in the reception hall.
  • Always order a few extra tablecloths and a dozen or so extra napkins, just in case something spills before the reception starts.
