How to Stay Cool While Dancing at Wedding

Dancing is one of the most fun parts of a wedding. It's an acceptable time to forget about everything else and have real fun. Whether the wedding is inside an air-conditioned ballroom or under a tent in July, it gets hot on that dance floor.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Drink up the cold water. A vodka tonic or glass of wine may seem to cool you down, but the alcohol is actually dehydrating you. Stick to non-alcoholic drinks if you're dancing a lot.
Step2
Take frequent breaks. Sit out every few dances to catch your breath and cool down.
Step3
Order personalized fans as wedding favors. There are two types online--small plastic battery operated fans and paper Asian-inspired fans. Get your names and wedding date printed on them. It's a perfect way for your guests to stay cool.
Step4
Run cool water over your wrists. This will immediately cool you down. You can also wet a paper towel with cold water and run it along the back of your neck. If a faucet isn't nearby, use an ice cube.
Step5
Slightly lift up your skirt as you dance, if you're wearing a long dress. This can be done as part of the dance and no one will know you're actually trying to cool down.
Step6
Grip both side of the dress. Lift up slightly and move the dress around--almost like square dancers do. Any movement away from your body will let cooler air hit you.
