How to Dress for the Baton Club in Chicago

The Baton Club in Chicago is a cabaret that showcases some of the nation's most talented drag queens. Not raunchy but adult in content, the show is a must-see for anyone interested in the city's nightlife. It's also a staple destination for bachelorette parties. The more dressed up you are, the more attention you're going to draw.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Consider wearing full wedding garb. Inexpensive wedding dresses can be found at secondhand stores or borrowed from married friends or siblings. The point is to choose a dress you don't mind staining.

  2. Step 2

Suit up for the party by donning out-of-date wedding party apparel. The Baton Club is decorated in a Las Vegas-meets-disco style that will make your ugly old bridesmaid dress from 1972 feel right at home.

  3. Step 3

Go casual and comfy by sticking to your favorite jeans and athletic shoes. You'll be standing in line if you didn't make reservations months in advance, so comfort is key.

  4. Step 4

Dress up as you would to go out to any other bar in Chicago. Like Chicago nightlife in general, the Baton Club tends toward a casual club environment, though you will be welcomed regardless of your personal style.

  5. Step 5

Choose full-out drag if you feel like causing a stir. Sparkles and sequins are never out of place at the Baton Club. Just be sure you're prepared for the attention you'll get.
