How to Disinfect a Refrigerator With Antibacterial Wipes

The refrigerator can be one of the dirtiest and most germ-ridden things in your house, next to the toilet bowl. Even with regular spot cleaning, you'll find crumbs, residue and small spills inside. Antibacterial wipes are perfect because they are quick, easy and effective. Follow these steps to disinfect a refrigerator with antibacterial wipes.

Step1
Wipe up spills as soon as they occur. Move away the food and containers close to the spill. Use an antibacterial wipe to completely remove the spill.
Step2
Remove all items from the refrigerator. Armed with antibacterial wipes, start at the back of the top shelf. Run the wipe along the shelves, cleaning the entire surface.
Step3
Brush any crumbs into the palm of your hand or a waste basket as you clean the shelves.
Step4
Take the produce bins out of the refrigerator. Brush any crumbs into the garbage. Completely wipe out the inside and the outside of the bins. Place them back in the fridge.
Step5
Use antibacterial wipes to clean the shelves on the door of the refrigerator. Make sure you get in the corners.
Step6
Wipe down all remaining parts of the refrigerator. This includes the walls and handles.
Step7
Put all your food, condiments, drinks and containers back in the refrigerator. Keep antibacterial wipes handy for spot cleanings.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure the hit the area underneath the produce bins. Dirt and germs can build up there without you even realizing it.
