Rotate tires using a general rule of thumb if you can't locate an owner's manual. Most tires require rotation after 5,000 to 7,000 miles.

Pair tire rotation with oil changes as another way to maintain a tire rotation schedule. Rotate tires every other oil change if oil changes happen every 3,000 miles.

Maintain a log of when you perform tire rotations in a spreadsheet or in a car maintenance journal. Store the journal in the garage or the car's glove box.
