Instructions

Examine your current diet. Does your diet consist of processed foods? Does your diet consist more of one food group than another? Are you eating more healthy foods than non-healthy foods?

  2. Step 2

Learn about the macrobiotic diet. Macrobiotic is a Greek word that means "great life." The forces in life are known as "yin/yang." To live in harmony with nature, eat the foods that are grown locally, in season and promote health.

  3. Step 3

Implement the macrobiotic diet into your daily life. Add whole grains, eliminate processed foods, cut back on refined sugars and purchase local produce.

  4. Step 4

Establish good habits that lead to positive attitudes. Exercise regularly, Chew slowly. Reflect on life. Express daily gratitude. Creating new things. Reading inspirational literature.

  5. Step 5

Check to see that the yin/yang in your life is balanced. Increase yin foods (plant-based) when using too much yang (animal-based) to achieve balance. Positive attitudes can be achieved when the yin/yang is balanced.

Consult a macrobiotic counselor or take online cooking courses to increase your ability to follow the macrobiotic diet. The more you achieve a balance with this diet, the more positive your attitude will become.
