Things You'll Need:
- Yarn
- Knitting needles
-
Step 1
Cast on at least 17 stitches. The triple chevron pattern is worked in 12 + five stitches. To get repeats of the pattern, multiply the number of repeats you want by 12 and add five.
-
Step 2
Learn what to repeat in each row. Purl all the odd rows in the piece. On each of the knit rows, begin by knitting two, and work in the pattern until you have three stitches left. Knit these last three stitches.
-
Step 3
Work row two in this pattern: knit one, yarn over, slip two stitches onto the right needle and knit them through the back. Then knit seven, knit two stitches together without slipping them on the needle, and yarn over.
-
Step 4
Complete row four. Knit two, yarn over, slip slip knit one, knit five, knit two together, yarn over and knit one.
-
Step 1
Finish row six. Knit one. Then repeat yarn over, slip slip knit twice. Knit three. Then repeat knit two together, yarn over twice.
-
Step 2
Follow a similar pattern to row six in row eight. Instead of knitting one and three, knit two, and then one. Before repeating the pattern, knit one. You will repeat row eight in row 12.
-
Step 3
Knit one. Then repeat yarn over, slip slip knit twice. Yarn over and slip two stitches knitwise. This will give your triple chevron the lace effect. Knit one. Pass two slipped stitches over, and yarn over. Then repeat knit two together, yarn over twice.
-
Step 4
Repeat row 10 for row 14, except, do not perform any of the stitches twice in a row. Knit three; then start working the yarn, over slip slip knit once. At the end of the pattern, after the last yarn over, knit two.
-
Step 5
Begin with knit four, on row 16. Then yarn over, slip slip knit. Knit one and then knit two together. Finish by yarn over and knit three.
-
Step 6
Complete the pattern on Row 18. Knit five, yarn over, and slip two stitches as if to knit. Then knit one, pass two slip stitches over. Again, passing the stitches over will give your triple chevron an open lace look. Yarn over and knit four.
