How to Make a Yuzu Lemon Drop

The traditional lemon drop is a sweet and sour concoction that has many different variations. The Yuzu Lemon Drop is a Japanese version of the cocktail that utilizes the citrus flavor of the yuzu fruit.   • 1 tsp. Yuzu juice
  • 1 tsp. Simple syrup
  • Ice as desired
  • Sanding sugar

  1. Yuzu Lemon Drop Recipe

      Pour the simple syrup, yuzu juice, and vodka into a shaker. Add ice as desired.

      Shake until the container is very cold to the touch or until condensation forms on the outside.

      Strain the liquid into a sugar rimmed martini glass.

    Making Simple Syrup

Tips & Warnings

  • Sanding sugar is a large granule sugar used for baking and also for decorating baked goods.

  • Add more citrus flavor by infusing the simple syrup with yuzu or lemon zest. Add one tsp. to the mixture before placing it in the refrigerator. Let it sit for at least two days before using.

  • The hot simple sugar syrup is extremely hot. Exercise extreme caution when transferring it from the saucepan into the storage container.
