Step 1
Gain control of the foosball with the pin. Some players make the mistake of attempting a shot when the foosball is close to the pin but when they have no control. Out of control shots occasionally work but this is more chance than skill.
-
Step 2
Grip the control handle with the palm rather than the fingers. The number of fingers used on the grip varies, but three or four is the usual shot recommendation.
-
Step 3
Roll the pin downward with the foosball to goal side of the man's foot. Be sure to keep initial contact with the foosball as the pin begins the downward movement.
-
Step 4
Move the pin slowly around and behind the foosball as the man's foot is brought upright on the table. Be certain to maintain a steady hand. Any jerky movements can alter the aim of the pin shot.
-
Step 5
Relax before taking the shot. Player often makes the mistake that more power and grip equals a better shot. Too much force can throw off a pin shot's accuracy.
-
Step 6
Bring the pin down and through the foosball. The torque on the shot will depend on ending position of the ball and the direction of the goal. To get maximum torque pin the foosball to the table just before the shot and move the control handle in the proper direction.
