Step 1
Pick a port-a-crib sheet that is of high quality. There are plushy thick sheets available in baby retail stores that fit port-a-cribs. These sheets are much more snuggly for your baby to sleep on as opposed to a thin cotton sheet.
-
Step 2
Purchase a quilted mattress pad to fit over the hard stiff base of the port-a-crib mattress. This will give a little extra cushion underneath the sheet. If you cannot find one in a port-a-crib size, buy one for a standard crib size, then cut and stitch the mattress pad to adapt it to the size of the port-a-crib. Perhaps you might even have a willing grandmother who would handle this sewing project for you.
-
Step 3
Fold a fleecy blanket such as a stadium throw and place over the top of the mattress base and then cover with your port-a-crib sheet.
-
Step 4
Buy a piece of bedding foam, which you will cut and fit to the size of the port-a-crib. Place the foam piece directly over the mattress base and then cover with the port-a-crib sheet. Buy the type of bedding foam that is washable in the event of a "little accident."
-
Step 5
Cover the base mattress with a pad of lambs wool or wool fleece. This option is a bit more expensive, but it adds a luxurious feel of comfort to your baby's port-a-crib. The crib sheet would fit right over this pad and your baby will have an exceptionally cozy little port-a-crib, so everyone will get a good night's rest.
