If you're a businesswoman and work in the corporate world, chances are you go through your fair share of pantyhose. Even if you're buying the cheapest pairs available, you're probably spending quite a bit of money on many pairs of pantyhose. Luckily, there are several things you can do to make each pair of pantyhose last as long as possible.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Look for opaque, heavier knits and avoid sheer pantyhose, if you want them to last multiple wears.

  2. Step 2

Wear the proper size. Pantyhose that are too small will be under more stress and more likely to run and tear.

  3. Step 3

Spray your new pantyhose lightly with starch to add strength to the fibers.

  4. Step 4

Wet your pantyhose and place them in a plastic bag. Make sure the bag is completely sealed and put it in the freezer. Freezing the pantyhose will stress the fibers before you wear them, making them harder to tear when you put them on. Remove them from the freezer and allow them to thaw before hanging them in the bathtub to dry.

  5. Step 5

Be very careful when you're putting the pantyhose on. When donning your hose don't wear jewelry and keep your your finger and toe nails trimmed and your feet smooth and callous free. This will keep your pantyhose from encountering any unwanted snags or rips.

  6. Step 6

Use hairspray or clear nail polish if your pantyhose get a snag or run. Turn the hose inside out and apply a light coating of spray or polish to the edges of the run or snag. Allow it to dry completely before wearing your hose again.

Tips & Warnings
  • You don't have to buy the most expensive pairs of pantyhose in order for them to last as long as possible. Don't be afraid to buy the cheap pairs. They have a tendency to last just as long.
