Ribbon flowers are making a comeback. You can find flowers on everything from clothing to table linens. Get the chic look of ribbon flowers without the chic price by making beautiful ribbon flowers whether you are an expert or a blooming seamstress.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Measure and cut four, 6-inch pieces of ribbon. Cut 10-inch pieces for medium sized flowers, and 13 inch pieces to make large flowers.
Step2
Fold each piece of ribbon in half. Mark the center of each ribbon with a fabric pen.
Step3
Lay 2 pieces of ribbon perpendicular to each other to look like a large "plus" sign. Line up the center mark on the ribbons.
Step4
Place the other ribbons down so that they dissect each angle of the "plus" sign. Line up the center marks of all the ribbons.
Step5
Stick a threaded needle through the center of the ribbons. Pull the needle through until the knot hits the ribbon. Turn the ribbons upside down. Adjust the placement of each piece, if needed.
Step6
Pull one end of a ribbon into the center of the flower. Sew it in place with the needle. Fold each piece of ribbon into the center, and sew them in place individually.
Step7
Sew through the center of the ribbons several time to secure the ribbons. Tie off the thread, and cut off the excess. Turn the flower over, and sew a button to the center of the flower.
