Step 1
Follow the same diet as you do at home. There's room to add a few extras when on vacation. Stay in the same range of food choices as usual when you travel.
-
Step 2
Pick restaurants that have an abundance of customers. Those with the most people have the quickest turnaround of food, making it fresher. Ask for condiments in packages. Ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise is safer in their individual packages.
-
Step 3
Stock the car with a small cooler of healthy choices for car trips that require driving a long distance. Take sliced cheese, fruits and cut up vegetables. Throw in a few bottles of water.
-
Step 4
Fill time in the airport with shopping, people watching or resting. Eat when your hungry, not out of boredom. Schedule a small meal before boarding when food won't be offered in flight.
-
Step 5
Find motels with kitchenettes and prepare your own food to ensure a well balanced meal while traveling.
