Things You'll Need:
- Glass vase
- Tile adhesive
- Craft stick
- Glue
- Mosaic tiles
- Gloves
- Tile grout
- Grout spreader
- Sponge
- Cloth
-
Step 1
Gather all of your materials. These can be found at any hobby or crafts store. Apply a thin layer of tile adhesive on one side of the vase with a craft stick. Add a drop of glue to the back of each tile.
-
Step 2
Mix and match your tile colors if you wish, and glue them on the glass vase. Leave about a 1/8-inch space between the tiles. You may want to wear gloves or just wash your hands while using the adhesive and glue.
-
Step 3
Create your mosaic design on one side of the vase at a time. Position the tiles the way you want them with a craft stick. Let each side set for 30 minutes. In other words, work on one side of your vase, set it aside for 30 minutes, then repeat the Steps 1 through 3 for the other sides.
-
Step 4
Let the mosaic tiles dry on the vase overnight. Then, spread tile grout over and in between the tiles with a plastic grout spreader. Allow the grout to become smooth and even with the tile surface. Let the grout harden once you've finished adding it to the vase.
-
Step 5
Wet a sponge with cool water. Use the dampened sponge to lightly wipe excess grout from the tiles on the vase.
-
Step 6
Dry your newly created mosaic candle holder overnight. Carefully loosen any excess grout from the tiles' surface with a craft stick. Polish your mosaic tiles with a soft cloth or a paper towel for a clean, shiny finish. You are now ready to light a candle inside your mosaic candle holder.
