Things You'll Need:
- IPod account
- USB cable
-
Step 1
Open the iTunes application on your computer. All of the video you have purchased or imported will be displayed in your iTunes Library under the headings "Music," "Movies," "TV Shows" or "Podcasts."
-
Step 2
Turn on your iPod nano by touching any of the buttons on the click wheel. Make sure the "Hold" button on the bottom of the iPod is in the "off" position before you press any buttons.
-
Step 3
Attach the wide end of the USB cable to the dock on the bottom of your iPod nano. Insert the smaller end of the cable to a USB port on your computer. Avoid using the keyboard ports on a desktop computer, as they are not powerful enough to charge and sync an iPod.
-
Step 4
Wait for your computer to recognize the iPod before attempting to add video or music to the device. Once the iPod is successfully connected, a summary window will show up on the iTunes screen.
-
Step 5
Add a music video by clicking on the "Music" tab on the iPod summary screen. Select individual songs and videos by checking off each individual box or select "All songs and playlists." Check off the box that says "include music videos" at the bottom of the screen and hit the "Sync" button.
-
Step 6
Click on "Movies" or "TV Shows" to add these types of video to your iPod nano. Drop-down menus on these screens give you the option to download all unwatched episodes or the 1, 3 or 5 most recent episodes. Hit the "Sync" button after you make your selection, remembering that your iPod may not have enough memory to add every movie or TV show you own on iTunes.
-
Step 7
Choose the "Podcasts" tab to add video podcasts to your iPod nano. You must already have a subscription to the podcast through iTunes in order to download them to an iPod. Pick the number of unplayed podcast episodes that you want to download and click on "Sync."
-
Step 1
Drag your iMovie clip into the iTunes folder on your computer. The clip will be displayed in the iTunes Library with the rest of your video and music.
-
Step 2
Click on the iMovie video so that it is highlighted.
-
Step 3
Select the "Advanced" menu in iTunes. Choose the option that is labeled "Convert Selection for iPod/iPhone." Depending on the size of the video clip, the transfer process can take a few seconds to several minutes or even longer.
-
Step 4
Find your homemade video clip under the "Movies" tab on the iPod summary screen. Now that it is in a format your iPod can support, you can select the check box and sync it to your iPod.
