Alli diet pills are among the newest products when it comes to diet supplements. Available over the counter, these pills have proven themselves in reliable studies of weight loss results. So far there have been few problems with the product, but as with all non-prescription drugs, proper use of the diet pills is not only key to their efficacy but imperative to their safety.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Take Alli only if you are 18 or older. The Alli website itself states clearly that "Under no circumstances should the pills be administered to people under 18 years of age" (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

Ingest the Alli diet pills only as whole pills. Crushing, chewing or dissolving Alli pills will negate the specifically formulated time-release ability of the tablets, so swallowing them whole is key to keeping them working properly all day.

  3. Step 3

Keep your dosages consistent. Only one 60 milligram Alli pill should be taken three times per day. However, if you miss a dose, it may be best to simply skip that dose and take the next scheduled dose on time.

  4. Step 4

Consider taking a vitamin supplement when you use Alli diet pills. Since Alli is designed to block the absorption of fats, vitamins that are borne through fat to the body may not be able to make it into your system in healthy amounts. A vitamin supplement is suggested to help even out this deficiency.

  5. Step 5

Eat with each of your doses when you use Alli diet pills. The pills are most effective when they have fat to block, so taking them on an empty stomach would be essentially pointless.

  6. Step 6

Reduce your fat intake to about 15 g of fat per meal. This low-fat figure is suggested as the perfect amount of fat intake for the Alli diet pills to work most efficiently. A low intake of fat also helps prevent gastrointestinal side effects.

  7. Step 7

Increase your physical activity both during and after your regimen of Alli diet pills. No matter what diet aids you use, increasing your physical activity will always be a primary element of a healthy lifestyle. An increase in physical activity will not only help you lose the pounds faster in conjunction with the Alli diet pills, but it will help you maintain your perfect weight after you stop the Alli program.

Tips & Warnings
  • Alli is simply a smaller does of the drug prescription drug Orlistat. Both Orlistat and Alli have the potential to cause extremely unpleasant side effects, including loose stools, flatulence and incontinence.
