Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- manufacturer's care instructions, dish soap. paper towel, vegetable oil
Step1
The first step is obviously to read the manufacturer's care instructions. These instructions offer your basic care guidelines and can help improve the longevity of your cookware if followed properly.
Step2
Wash Cookware Thoroughly
Wash all pots and pans thoroughly inside and out promptly after use. Allowing food to sit in the cookware creates more work later, which can result in you having to be more abrasive in removing the food.
(Please note ... scrubbing is not good for the coating and may damage it)
If baked-on food are difficult to remove, wash cookware in soap, dry it thoroughly, and rub vegetable oil into the cookware with a paper towel.
Step3
Since non-stick finishes or coatings are relatively thin, they can damage easily. Use the following suggestions to keep your cookware in top shape for many meals to come.
Use wood, nylon, or specially coated spoons and spatulas to prevent surface damage.
Nowadays, most non-stick cookware can be safely washed in the dishwasher, however, check with your manufacturers instruction to make certain it will not damage the coating. You should always wash new pans before using them, and lightly coat the inside with vegetable oil. Try not soak pans in soapy water so the coating doesn't retain a soap flavor.
Step4
Although there are many different types of Cookware (Stainless Steel, Plastic, Glass, Copper, and more) you should easily be able to care for each piece by simply following the manufacturer's care instructions. Now that we have gone over the tips and guidelines mentioned above, you should be well armed to keep your cookware clean and ready for the next meal. Happy Cooking!
