Installing a water line on a frige can be done easily with a few tools.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/4 inch water line kit preferably a braded metal flex kit,
  • wrench
  • pipe dope for threads
  1. Step 1

Locate the cold water line as close to the appliance as possible
attach the water valve to the cold water line and tighten screws.
turn the valve all the way in so it pierces the pipe.

  2. Step 2

Attach the water line to the new valve.

  3. Step 3

Bring the water line up to the appliance and attach the water line to the back fitting on the frige.
After lines are attached turn water on and test for leaks
Purge line by extracting at least 1 gal of water through dispenser.

on 8/15/2008 Assume you turn off the water supply before attaching the water valve to the cold water line. These kits only work on copper water lines and certainly not galvanized piping or Wirsbo plastic lines. May not be so simple.
