How to install a dishwasher
Installing a new dishwasher can be as easy as removing the old one and swapping in the new. Whether replacing a nonworking appliance or just upgrading to a more energy-efficient unit, with a few precautions, you can install the unit yourself with basic DIY skills.

- Dishwasher water line kit

Remove the bottom kick plate from old unit. Turn the water and electric off to the machine. These should both be isolated from all other appliances and fixtures. If not, you need to contact a pro, or you may be able to do it yourself depending on your aptitude or mechanical ability.

Remove the drain line, electric connection, and water line from old machine. Remove screws that fasten it to counter. You may need to turn down the adjustable feet up to clear the counter for removal.

Remove the new one from package. Attach drain hose to new machine with a hose clamp. Install the fitting for the water line. When connecting water line tighten hand tight and then one-quarter turn with a wrench. Measure the distance from floor to the bottom side of counter. Adjust the feet, leaving 1 inch for final adjustment and leveling

Hook up the drain, electric and water lines, using an adjustable wrench. Slide the new machine into place and adjust the feet. Make certain it is level, using a spirit level. Install the screws and install the cover plate at the base of machine. Turn on the water and electric and test.

Always make sure the water and electric are off before service and removal.
