How to Get Your Eyebrows Threaded

Eyebrow threading is an ancient method used in the Middle East to remove unwanted hair. Threading is a gentler alternative to plucking, bleaching or waxing, and is safer to use on sensitive skin. The technique involves twisting a piece of cotton thread around the base of the hair shaft and quickly removing it. Over time, the hair may grow finer and sparse with treatments. Threading can also be done to remove hair from the upper lip, chin and sideburns.

Instructions

1. Locate a salon with Indian or Middle Eastern technicians or owners. You may look in your phone book; ask for recommendations or conduct an Internet search. Also, check your local malls; many eyebrow-threading facilities are located inside.

2. You can make an appointment, although walk-ins are generally welcome as well. Eyebrow threading takes less than 10 minutes. Call the salon to ask about their policies.

3. Show up to your appointment. The technician will discuss how you want your eyebrows shaped. The technician may also address any questions or concerns you may have.

4. Follow the technician's instructions. She will lean you back in your chair and have you pull the skin above your eyebrow taunt. The technician will begin to thread your eyebrows according to your specifications.
