Eyebrow threading is a method of hair removal that began in India and became popular in the Middle East. More recently it gained popularity in the United States. It involves twisting a piece of thread, commonly cotton, around a row of hair and quickly removing it. Threading makes for a gentler experience and a neater brow.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Call you regular salon and ask them if they offer threading. If they do not, ask them if they can recommend a salon that does. Similarly, if you know a salon with Indian or Middle Eastern ownership or technicians, chances are good that they offer eyebrow threading.

  2. Step 2

Once you have located a salon it is likely that you can just walk in without an appointment. Eyebrow threading takes about 10 minutes and so you do not necessarily have to call ahead. Check with the salon to make sure.

  3. Step 3

Once you are sitting in your chair for your eyebrow threading just sit back and relax. Threading hurts less then waxing, but there is still a sting. Try to keep you head as still as you can.

  4. Step 4

You threading technician may ask you to stretch the skin around your eyebrow flatter to better thread the lower part of you eyebrow. Do this with your thumb and first finger.

  5. Step 5

If you want to do it yourself, see the Resources for video instructions.
