be a Good Passenger When you Hitch a Ride

Getting a ride from a friend rather then being stuck on a train or a bus is a huge pleasure. You can return the favor by being the best passenger you can, whether in for a long road trip or just a trip down the block.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Step up and be the navigator. Before you even get in the car, have a route planned and a map on hand to assist your driver to the location.

  2. Step 2

Bring music that you know the driver likes. If you don't know, ask beforehand or bring your iPod so you have a large variety of music.

  3. Step 3

In the same vein, if the driver wishes to only listen to her music, let her.

  4. Step 4

Offer to take small tasks off the driver's hands, such as music switching, radio station changing, pumping gas, holding toll money and tickets, and holding drinks or food.

  5. Step 5

Offer to pay for at least one tank of gas and half of all tolls.

  6. Step 6

Pick up your area after you leave the car. Leave it cleaner then when you got in.

  7. Step 7

Stay awake and keep your driver company.
