The following information is designed to help you prepare for presentation so your audience can benefit the most form your experience.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Begin with an introduction. State your name and your occupation and place of work. Express that you are happy you have the opportunity to address your audience.

  2. Step 2
     

    Briefly summarize your life's journey. Briefly talk about your childhood, education and work experience. You can mention here any significant or relevant associations you are involved in.

  3. Step 3

    Emphasize one or two principles or values which you have followed that have helped to get you to where you are today. These values can be anything from hard work, taking risks or even maximizing opportunities.

  4. Step 4

    Give one or two examples of how these principles or values have affected your life. You can give an example of an incident where these values were necessary to get to where you are today.

  5. Step 5

    Be prepared to answer any questions based on your speech, such as your worst experience and how you overcame it or any role models that you may have.

  6. Step 6
     

    Be honest. Honest communication is the best policy. Admitting pitfalls and overcoming them is the best way to establish confidence from your listeners.

  7. Step 7

    Thank again your audience for taking the time to listen to you. It is a privilege when someone gives their time to listen to what you have to say.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try to relate your experiences to the age of your group. This way they can relate best to your experiences.
  • Do use humor. This gives character and flavor to your speech.
  • Show and tell. If you have any examples of your work, bring these to the speech. You can show your audience you work samples, while you talk about them.
