An elbow lever is a basic gymnastics move based on strength and balance.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start the elbow lever on the floor on your hands and knees.

  2. Step 2

Turn your hands so that your fingers point out to the sides or even slightly backwards.

  3. Step 3

Bend your elbows and stick them in your sides. They tuck in close to your hips.

  4. Step 4

Lean forward on your elbows (lever) and squeeze your glutes and hamstrings to lift your feet up.

  5. Step 5

Look up to keep your back strait.

  6. Step 6

Now you can do an elbow lever!
