How to remove odors from a refrigerator

A quick and easy way to rid a refrigerator of stubborn odors. Especially for refrigerators that have been sitting empty, or refrigerators in your Rv, camp, etc.

Things You’ll Need:

Newspaper

Step1

Make sure the refrigerator is unplugged.

Step2

Crumble up newspaper and place all over the inside of the refrigerator.

Step3

Leave the newspaper in the refrigerator over night. Remove the newspaper in the morning.

Tips & Warnings

If the odor is still not completely gone, repeat the above steps.
Make sure the refrigerator is off.

on 7/24/2008 I had the worst refrigerator odor coming from a combination of cheese, onions and chinese food. Pretty bad. After trying just about everything else including baking soda which didn't really work well, I saw a recommendation about a product called Fridge-IT. It is a little purple activated carbon odor absorber. Might be little but wow, does it work great. I highly recommend it.
