Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- A knowledge of popular casino games
- An idea of which games you are comfortable playing
- A gambling budget
Step1
Evaluate which card games you have taking a liking to and which you wouldn't mind learning.
Step2
Sharpen your knowledge and skill level at games like craps and blackjack, two games that give the casino the lowest advantage over a player.
Step3
Read up on strategies and various bets you can make while playing these games. Pay close attention to "sucker bets" and to when you should bet more money on a given hand/roll.
Step4
Practice your newfound strategies at home with friends or online. Play with the same amount of money that you would likely budget for yourself at a casino.
Step5
Continue playing until most card/rolled scenarios become second nature to you, at which point you know immediately how to proceed with your hand/bet.
Step6
Stay away from keno and slot machines, which, statistically, have the worst odds of winning.
Step7
Try to bet on tables that have low minimum bet amounts. That way, if you lose a few hands in a row you're not down a significant amount of money.
Step8
Don't get carried away when you're winning and start doubling your bets. Try to keep your bets steady throughout your gambling sessions.
Step9
Once you're up approximately $50 or so, make a pile of winnings that contains the amount of money you initially budgeted to gamble for that day and 50 percent of your winnings. Use the other 50 percent or so (depending on your level of comfort) to continue gambling if you wish.
Step10
Put all winnings away at the end of each day. Ultimately put that money in the bank once you're back from Vegas.
