Take a true/false test with ease using these tips.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • pencil
  • paper
  1. Step 1

Read the directions and the questions carefully.

  2. Step 2

Read the test a second time and answer questions that are more difficult after you have answered the easier ones.

  3. Step 3

If the question contains any negatives, such as "no, not, cannot" drop the negative and read what remains.

eg. No dogs chase cats. False, because some dogs chase cats.

  4. Step 4

If the question contains any absolute words, such as “no, never, none, always, every, entirely, only," then decide whether it is always correct.

eg. Dogs always chase cats. False, because some dogs chase cats, but not at all times.

  5. Step 5

If the question contains any qualifiers, such as "sometimes, often, frequently, ordinarily, generally," then decide whether the argument is accurate.

eg. Sometimes dogs chase cats. True.

  6. Step 6

If any one part of the sentence is false, the whole sentence is false, even if part of it is true. If is a long sentence and one part is false then it is false.

eg. Sometimes dogs chase cats, but sometimes dogs fly. False, because some dogs chase cats, but dogs don't fly.

  7. Step 7

    Choose the best answer.

Tips & Warnings
  • Look at prior tests to establish a T/F pattern. Most tests answers are True, but then they could also mostly be False.
