Instructions

    • 1

Cut a center-hole noodle into short sections with scissors. Then cut along one side of the noodle so that it can be opened, much like foam pipe insulation.

    • 2

Wrap sections of noodle around wire shelving legs in your garage to protect your car doors from bumping into the metal. The noodles will protect both the door and the shelf unit from dings.

    • 3

Thread several short noodle sections on twine and make a large knot in the end. Park your car in its usual spot in the garage. Install a ceiling hook above the spot where the car hood ends. Hang the twine from the hook to mark where the front of the car should stop when you pull into the garage. Stack enough noodles on the twine so they are visible from the driver's seat.

    • 4

Place noodles on the outside legs of wire shelving units that line traffic paths inside your home. Cut the noodles so they fit the legs between shelves. They can protect toddlers and older dogs from injury if they fall against the legs.

    • 5

Cut short pieces of noodle to fit the legs of your bed frame. Place the noodles between the frame and each wheel to protect your toes.

Tips & Warnings

  • In dark areas, use bright noodles for visibility.

  • For living areas, choose a noodle color that blends into the decor.

  • Look for short, multicolored noodles that are 3 to 4 inches long, usually threaded on rope and sold as pool toys. These precut sections are easy to slice open on one side for instant use.

  • Always keep a spare water noodle on hand for emergency projects.

  • Do not let children or pets gnaw noodles -- they are not toys and can be choking hazards.
