These are some ideas and suggestions on how to stop worrying, or at least to stop worrying obsessively. Worrying is not good for you!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Meditation books
  • Affirmation books
  • Telephone
  • Internet
  1. Step 1

Breathe! The first thing that you need to do is breathe. It sounds simple, but when we worry we tend to hold our breath. Slow down and take a few deep breaths when you feel your mind start to kick into overdrive.

  2. Step 2

Meditate. Meditation will quiet your mind and will prevent worries from even entering your mind. Even if you they do enter your mind, a regular meditation practice will give you enough tools in order not to be sucked into the worry thoughts.

  3. Step 3

Talk. Talk to a friend that is supportive and helpful. Sometimes just having someone to talk to about your worries will lessen the burden. You can help each other. Remember that there are some things that you can change and some that you can't. Think of the worst thing that can happen, think about how you would handle it, and then let the problem go.
