Things You'll Need:
- Two decks of playing cards
-
Step 1
Lay down cards one by one, face up, in two rows. The first row will have seven cards face up and the second row will have six cards face up with one card face down in the middle of the row.
-
Step 2
As you lay the cards, be aware that each place has a number assignment. The first place, to the very left of the first row, is the ace spot. The spot next to it is the two spot and so on and so forth. As you deal out the deck, every time you lay down an ace or king, put one card face down in the face-down pile in the middle of the second row. Every time you put a number in its spot (for example, a three in the three spot) put four cards face down in the face-down pile. When you get to the end of the second row, put one card face down in the face-down pile and go back to the beginning of the first pile.
-
Step 3
Once you deal all the cards, you should have approximately five cards in each spot, give or take a card or two. In your face-down pile, you should have 25 cards or so.
-
Step 4
Scan the tops of the piles. All kings and aces must be put at the top of the playing surface above the rows. You will play cards of the same suit on the aces (for example, a two would go on an ace, a three would go on a two) and you will play cards of the same suit on kings in reverse order (for example, a queen would go on a king, a jack would go on a queen). At any point in the game you may play a top card of any pile on your kings and aces piles, if applicable.
-
Step 5
To start the game, pick up one of the face-down cards. If it is a nine, pick up the nine pile to play the cards. Any card that you can play on the ace and king piles, play it now. Once you can't play any more, pick up another face-down card and pick up the corresponding pile to play those cards. Remember, whenever you can play a card that is on top of any of the other piles, play it!
-
Step 6
Repeat this process until the face-down pile is used up. If you are extremely lucky, you will have played all the other cards. But this game is really difficult to win.
