Acquiring more houseplants doesn't always mean buying them. You can simply propagate your favorite existing plants to create more of them and decorate your home.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Knife or pair of scissors
  • Pathos plant
  • Small vase or glass jar
  • Water
  • Container
  • Potting soil

Step1
Take the Pathos plant and cut a branch six to eight inches long. The branch should have at least two leaves.
Step2
Put the branch in the vase or jar.
Step3
Add water, filling the vase up to an inch from the top. Let the plant sit in the glass of water for two to three weeks until you see roots forming.
Step4
Take the branch with roots and either plant it in a new container filled with potting soil or in the original container.

on 4/17/2008 I generated new roots from cuttings - left them in water about 4 weeks.
I moved it from water to soil, now the plant is turning yellow in some spots. I have had it in soil about 2 weeks. What else should i do? i have it at my desk and level the florecent lights on 8.5 hours a day. On the week ends someone comes along and turns the lights off... is it lighting? I didnt have an issue while rooting?
