Retrieve the copy of your cover letter, which I had you save - from the article "How to write a resume cover letter". Use the contact persons information to address the inquiry letter. Use the same format for a personal letter and keep it brief.
Step2
Your personal information at the top of the page centered is required again. Be sure to include all phone numbers and your email address.
Next type the date, then your contacts information, and a greeting.
Step3
Enclosed please find a copy of my resume and cover letter originally submitted on (date). I am writing to inquire about my earlier submission and the status of the position ________________ within your company, _________________.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to update me on this position.
Sincerely,
(Your name)
Be sure to sign this letter.
Step4
Once you have sent the inquiry letter do not contact the employer again, unless you have been instructed to do so. After one week, with no response, move on.
It is in your best interest to move on earlier. Be sure to send out more than one resume at a time. Keep the process moving, the worse thing that can happen is you receive two or three contacts for an interview.
