Step1
See your doctor and have an open discussion about your weight issues. Work with your doctor to come up with a reasonable plan.
Step2
Set a realistic goal. Healthy weight loss will only be about 1 pound per week. It will take a long time if you have a lot of weight to lose, but it will be the healthiest way.
Step3
Start by eating less food. If you eat out or get take out, either get a smaller portion or divide the meal into 2 portions and only eat one portion. Save the other for another meal. This will help to stretch your food budget too.
Step4
Cut back on the things that you shouldn't be eating. This is the hard part, but instead of eliminating goodies from your intake, cut back on them. Allow yourself to have a goodie once in a while, just don't overdo it.
Step5
Don't eat a snack before going to bed.
Step6
Start an exercise plan. You need to make time in your schedule to get some exercise. Exercise will burn some of the fat and calories and will help to boost your metabolism which will burn calories at a higher rate.
Step7
If you can start visiting a gym on a regualr basis, alternate cardio fitness workouts with weight training workouts. This combination will help to burn fat.
