If you are like me, you gain weight just looking at food. I have tried diets and can lose weight and it always comes back and multiplies. What is my problem? I eat too much, eat the wrong things, and don't get enough exercise.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Desire to lose weight
  • Will Power
  • Self Control
  1. Step 1

See your doctor and have an open discussion about your weight issues. Work with your doctor to come up with a reasonable plan.

  2. Step 2

Set a realistic goal. Healthy weight loss will only be about 1 pound per week. It will take a long time if you have a lot of weight to lose, but it will be the healthiest way.

  3. Step 3

Start by eating less food. If you eat out or get take out, either get a smaller portion or divide the meal into 2 portions and only eat one portion. Save the other for another meal. This will help to stretch your food budget too.

  4. Step 4

Cut back on the things that you shouldn't be eating. This is the hard part, but instead of eliminating goodies from your intake, cut back on them. Allow yourself to have a goodie once in a while, just don't overdo it.

  5. Step 5

Don't eat a snack before going to bed.

  6. Step 6

Start an exercise plan. You need to make time in your schedule to get some exercise. Exercise will burn some of the fat and calories and will help to boost your metabolism which will burn calories at a higher rate.

  7. Step 7

If you can start visiting a gym on a regualr basis, alternate cardio fitness workouts with weight training workouts. This combination will help to burn fat.

Tips & Warnings
  • This plan is a life style change that should enable you to safely lose weight and keep it off.
