Queens is a relatively easy card game to play. If you have 2-6 players, the game is a great evening activity and alternative to those endless poker nights!
Deal two cards to every player face down. Players are allowed to look at these cards. After everybody has received two cards, players have the option to check, bet or fold.
Step2
Deal one card face-up to every player. Once again, players have the option to check, bet or fold.
Step3
Continue in this manner until all players have two cards in their hand (or “the hole) and four cards face up.
Step4
The game is called “queens” because if a card that is dealt face-up is a queen, the next card flipped face-up (the card that is dealt to the very next player) will be a wild card for every player. For example, if a queen is dealt face-up to the second of four players and the third player receives a “three” face-up, all threes are wild.
Step5
In this case, threes would remain wild unless another queen is dealt face up. If that occurs, the next card dealt face up would become the wild and threes would no longer be wild.
Step6
Once all players have two cards in their hand and four cards facing up, a final card is dealt to all players. Players at this time have the option to choose whether or not they want to take their card face-up or down. This will depend on whether or not players hope to get a queen dealt face-up in order to change the wild card. However, if a player chooses to have his final card dealt face-up and it is a queen, the following player does not have to choose his card face-up. If he takes his card face-down, the same wild card as before remains wild.
Step7
If no queens are dealt face-up, there are no wild cards for that particular hand.
Step8
Players then make the best hand they can with five of their seven cards. The player with the best hand wins. Standard poker rules apply to determine the winner.
