How to help Stanford Cure Diseases

Chances are you know someone with Alzheimer's or cancer, if you have you know what a terrible diseases they can be. Have you ever wondered if there was some way you could help find a cure to diseases like this. You can help scientists at Stanford help find a cure to this disease and many others, like Mad Cow (BSE), CJD, ALS, Huntington's, Parkinson's disease, and many Cancers and cancer-related syndromes. You can help without having to donate any money, all you have to do is let them use your computer while your not using it. Their goal is to find out how proteins fold and misfold, and how this is related to disease. Folding@Home is a distributed computing project, people all over the world download software and band together to form one supercomputer.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer

Step1
Go to http://folding.stanford.edu/
Go to where it says Download at the top of the Page
Step2
Choose a user name, and download the software recomended.
Step3
Choose for Folding@home to be your screensaver so it is working whenever you are not using your computer.

  • Be sure to tell your friends about Folding@Home
  • You can join a team, and see how your points stack up against other people
