Do you have damaged hair from over processing, bleaching, or highlighting? Follow these tips for AWESOME recovery and strengthening.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Shower cap
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Protein Conditioner
  • Non-Protein Conditioner
  1. Step 1

    To prevent breakage then follow these steps before you get your hair processed. To repair damaged hair then repeat these steps 2-3 times a week, more or less depending on your hair type.

  2. Step 2

    Begin by shampooing hair and rinsing thoroughly with a good quality shampoo. Salons sell many brands, choose one that targets color treated hair.

  3. Step 3

    Then put the protein conditioner throughout rinsed hair and leave on only 5 minutes. Rinse with very warm water for several minutes to get ALL of the protein conditioner out. Use this only once a week.

    Then towel dry hair and apply a deep moisturizing conditioner or repair mask to hair and comb through with a wide toothed comb. Cover with a shower cap and leave on hair for 2-4 hours, or overnight. Rinse thoroughly.

    Try different products or ask your hair care professional to make recommendations. Adjust this process to your own hair needs. Before long you hair will be strong and healthy.

  • Avoid hot oil treatments too often, they may cause more damage.

  • Use protein conditioner only once a week, too much protein can cause more breakage.
  • Rinse protein conditioner out completely.
  • Do not sleep with a protein conditioner in hair overnight.

If your hair is still yucky after the protein conditioner, you MIGHT be protein sensitive.
