Things You'll Need:
- King James version of the Bible
- New World Translation of the Bible (J.W. version of the Bible)
- Bible dictionary and concordance
-
Step 1
Respect the Law of Non-Contradiction. It says two opposing viewpoints can't be right at the same time in the same sense. Given that, either the Jehovah Witnesses are correct and everyone else in Christendom is in error or vice versa. I hold to the latter viewpoint.
-
Step 2
Ask questions. When two uninvited individuals are standing at your front door asking to talk to you about your hopes for the future, and you see them holding a briefcase filled with those little books with the cheap drawings, don't slam the door in their face. Just ask them a series of questions that will help to open their minds to the false organization they are in.
-
Step 3
Ask them if they are prophets. If they say, "yes," you got them. If the say, "no" or "kind of," point them to the April 1, 1972 issue of the Watch Tower article, page 297. This article makes it abundantly clear that they are prophets. Now ask them to turn to Deuteronomy 18:20-22 in their bible. This sets the stage for defining a true or false prophet. Namely, if their organization spoke a prophecy that didn't come true then the organization is false and should not be listened to. Let them read it aloud.
After they read it ask them a simple question.
"Did the Jehovah Witness organization ever speak a prophecy that didn't come true?
It's your turn to remind them of the 1889 issue "The Time is at Hand.". 101. This publication predicted Christ Return and his overthrow of all of earths present rulership in "1914." It didn't happen! The prophecy was repeated for "1925" and "1975." It obviously didn't happen in those years either. So, by Biblical definition the Jehovah Witnesses is a false religion. -
Step 4
Ask them, "Did you know the name Jehovah is a made up name that came into being after the middle ages?" Jehovah Witnesses, however, say that the name "Jehovah" is the only name by which a person can receive salvation. The tetragrammaton YHWH is the four consonants that make up the eternal name of God. When the Hebrews came across YHWH, they would say Adonai (Lord) out of respect so as to not say the name in vain. They eventually stopped saying Adonai and started saying HaShem (Hebrew for "The Name") when speaking about God outside of Prayer. In order to indicate this substitution of Adonai for YHWH, the Massoretes placed the vowels of Adonai---English equivalents of e, o, and a--underneath the four consonants. Later, German Christians came along and mistranslated by adding the vowels found in Adonai or Elohim to the four consonants. That is how we get the name Jehovah. It is a Christian name never spoken by the Jews. This information can be found in the Encyclopedia Britannica and the Jewish Encyclopedia. Given this information the Jehovah Witnesses are really made-up or just simply false witnesses.

on 9/21/2009 I am not currently not a JW but after reading all thie "ehow" how to confront them series I now have ultimate respect for them. To go out ON A VOLUNTEER basis for NOTHING MORE than their love for neighbor and their commission to observe bible commandments and have people so cold hearted to want to post such hate is amazing. If you ever just listen and not thinking of ways to get rid of them you might be surprised at what you hear. The sad thing... their preaching work people hate so much and try to avoid will actually be WANTED very soon and when its not available will you then write a post on "How to get a JW to witness to me ASAP?"

on 8/8/2009 The Bible school at the Kingdom halls has taught me even more than any college or church classes ever could.
Very intellectual people, very trustworthy and respectful. You don't see any other religion going door to door more than these, that's what they're known for.
Mormons are very stiff whenever they come to my door, and they only do it to graduate in Utah because you need so many hours. JWs are very relaxed and bear an important message. They also have jobs, take care of their children and live normal lives as they do it. While you or me would be going to the movies or to clubs, JWs are taking their personal time with things that matter spiritually.
They're more Christian than any other church or religion I know of, and they always practice what they preach. They're interpetation of the Bible is very well examined and translated, many many Bible scholars agree.

on 2/12/2009 What is a Cult? I think the Roman Catholic Church is a cult, they have one man at the top. You have to ask a Priest to ask God to forgive you etc. There are many things other churches say that have not came true. I have never attended any JW groups but perhaps you might think about Acts 7:35, Romans 14:10-13, Matt. 7:1-5 Judge not, the ye be not judged. For with what judgemant ye judge, ye shall be judged. SO with that said, you think you and your church is 100% correct??? hmm, I think not!
