Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Have your first Thai food experience at a restaurant. You may grow to like home-cooked Thai food eventually but it’s safer to have it at a highly-rated establishment first.
Step2
Find a restaurant that specializes in “Asian-Fusion” cuisine.
Step3
Go to the Thai restaurant with somebody who loves Thai food. This person will be able to give you recommendations on which restaurant to eat at and which plates to order.
Step4
Order fried spring rolls as an appetizer. These will resemble the spring rolls that you would get at a Chinese restaurant. Regardless of whether you have had Thai food before or not, fried spring rolls are a safe item to pick.
Step5
If all else fails, order the chicken Pad Thai as your main dish. A combination of noodles, peanuts, bean sprouts, tofu and chicken (as well as a few other items), Pad Thai is probably the safest entrée for somebody who has never eaten Thai food before. At most places, Pad Thai will be served with a lime on the side. Squeeze the lime juice evenly over the Pad Thai.
