Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Paint
- Cleaning supplies
- Lawn tools
- less than $500.
Step1
This home needs some freshening up. Does yours?
Take pictures of your home inside and one of the front. Then really look at the photos yourself. I assure you that you will see things that "jump" out at you such as clutter, too much furniture in a room. In the case of the outside, you will see that you may need fresh mulch or repainting of your front door and/or removal of dead plantings.
Step2
Walk through each room and really try to put yourself in the position of a buyer. In this market your home needs to "sparkle". The windows show be clean, carpets should be clean and baseboards, bathrooms and kitchen all need to be clean. Old, outdated curtains should be removed. It is better to have bare, clean windows. Let the buyer envision their own ideas for decorating.
Step3
If you are able, there is nothing better than fresh paint for a house to stand out. Use an updated color such as beige or tan. White is out! Home buying is such an emotional purchase. Make sure your home smells fresh and clean for every showing.
