Experts say Americans are consuming more calories in their beverages than ever before. Since Starbucks is a popular stop for many of us, here are some ways to reduce your calorie intake while still enjoying your coffee.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Order non-fat milk. According to the company’s website, a grande Caffe Mocha with no whip and whole milk is 290 calories. Switch to skim milk and it drops to 220, saving 70 calories.

  2. Step 2

Skip the whip. Whip cream ads anywhere from 70 to 80 calories to a drink, according to the company’s nutrition information.

  3. Step 3

Try sugar-free syrup. Four pumps of caramel syrup ads 80 calories to a drink. Switch to sugar-free and the syrup has zero calories.

  4. Step 4

Avoid the bakery section. Even though Starbucks offers some reduced-fat baked goods the calorie intake still ranges from 330 to 390 per item.
