A writer’s strike can take a toll on typical evening entertainment. Television shows are often reruns, leaving little to do. Here are some ways to pass the time during a writer’s strike.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Consider taking up a new hobby. Try knitting, woodworking or reading. Learn something new rather than watching the same old shows.

  2. Step 2

Cook more elaborate meals. If it takes longer to prepare dinner, you’ll eat later and therefore use up some of the time that would have been spent watching television.

  3. Step 3

Tune in to cable. There are plenty of shows out there that may seem completely new. Try different channels. Reruns aren’t as bad when you didn’t catch them the first time around.

  4. Step 4

Play a game. Get out the deck of cards, Connect Four or a Sudoku book. Games are a great way to stay entertained.
