Sometimes no matter what we try, our clothes are full of static cling. When this happens, our clothes cling to us--just like how a balloon can stick to the wall. What can be done about static cling? Here are great solutions to the static cling problem!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Method 1: Hand Lotion

Step1
Get a small tube of hand lotion or hand cream and go someplace that is private.
Step2
Lift the clothing that is clinging. Apply the hand cream or lotion to your body. If you’re wearing nylons or other garments, put the hand cream or lotion right on top of those garments. Only use a small amount at a time.
Step3
Let your clothing return to its normal position. Your static cling will be gone!

Method 2: Hair Spray

Step1
Get a small can or spritzer of hair spray and go someplace private.
Step2
Lift your dress, skirt or blouse that is clinging to you. Spray the insides of it and your body with hairspray. Give it a minute or two for the hairspray to dry.
Step3
Let your clothes fall back to a normal position. Your static cling should be gone.

Method 3: Dryer Sheets

Step1
Place clean, damp clothes in the dryer.
Step2
Add 1 piece of a cling free, fabric softener type of dryer sheet to the dryer.
Step3
Turn on the dryer and allow clothes to dry. While one dryer sheet often gets rid of static cling, you can get it again by walking on rugs, sitting in a car or any number of activities.

Tips & Warnings

  • Using hand lotion is the very best method to get rid of static cling. It’s easy and lasts the longest, too.
